About the role
Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Business Development to lead the commercial payments strategy in Japan. The role focuses on scaling existing solutions and creating new, localized programs for SMEs, corporate travel, and supplier payments, driving digital transformation of corporate payment flows.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a commercial products strategy for Japan based on benchmarking, competitive analysis and research.
- Own the development, deployment and pricing of new commercial products, solutions, partnerships and programs.
- Define the optimal business model and value proposition to capture new payment flows, increase revenue and grow market share.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to localize global offerings and ensure alignment with Mastercard’s regional strategies.
- Lead market‑defining initiatives that shift cash‑dominant segments toward digital payment solutions.
Required profile
- Proven experience in commercial payments, business development or product management, preferably within the Japanese market.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct benchmarking, competitive analysis and market research.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage partnerships and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
