Purchasing Assistant – Operations Support

About the role

The Purchasing Assistant supports the Purchasing Manager in keeping the supply chain smooth across multiple hotel venues. Working both at a desk and on the road, you will connect central storage, venue teams, and vendors to maintain tight inventory, control costs, and ensure seamless operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Purchasing Manager with day‑to‑day procurement, acting as the primary contact for venue managers and vendors.
• Monitor and audit stock levels in central storage and each venue, correcting discrepancies and minimizing waste.
• Coordinate timely distribution of inventory from central storage to all locations, handling logistics and transportation.
• Use inventory and procurement software to record stock movements, verify orders, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support budget management, cash handling, and identify cost‑saving opportunities while ensuring a safe, compliant work environment.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Japan and a valid Japanese or international driving licence.
• Business‑level proficiency in Japanese (required) and English (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods and travel between venues.
