Customer Engineer I – ETCH

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading ETCH equipment while using digital analytics for troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

Required profile

• Completion of an associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics for troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques for equipment assessment.
• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Use of hand tools and digital multimeters.
