DDP Manager III, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, is looking for a DDP Manager III, Customer Engineer to oversee customer relationships and lead a team of customer engineers in Hiroshima, Japan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with all customers in the district, conducting regular visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct customer engineers, handling salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary interface with product divisions for technical support, training, spares, and reliability.
• Execute escalation procedures, oversee RMA processes, and ensure accurate tracking of engineer hours.
• Plan and manage system installations, including pre‑facility and start‑up meetings, and provide process support.
• Collaborate with District Sales Engineer on account planning and financial forecasting, driving cost efficiency and meeting financial targets.

• Strong leadership abilities to guide a team and enforce company policies.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, exercising judgment within defined procedures.
• Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, presenting technical information and gaining cooperation.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical standards.
