Electrical Engineer II

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical assemblies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role supports the development of cutting‑edge technology used in AI and next‑generation chips.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptual design of power distribution diagrams, AC/DC current calculations, PLC configuration, I/O lists and electrical layout planning.
• Provide design instructions to external engineering partners and respond to technical inquiries.
• Prepare bills of materials, coordinate component procurement and manage purchase requests.
• Perform equipment debugging, functional verification, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct electrical safety testing including ground resistance, dielectric withstand voltage, power consumption, temperature and noise measurements.
• Develop new circuit designs, select components, validate functionality and identify replacements for obsolete parts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in electrical design, debugging or safety testing of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of industry business drivers and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
