Enterprise Account Executive - Retail / CPG / Trading

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive based in Tokyo to lead the adoption of its safe, frontier AI technology across Japan’s retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and general trading sectors. You will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, partnering with senior leaders to enhance operations, supply‑chain efficiency and customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed revenue targets by acquiring new major accounts and expanding existing relationships with domestic retailers, CPG manufacturers and trading companies.
• Develop and execute territory plans, identifying high‑value opportunities across supermarkets, convenience stores, specialty retailers, food & beverage producers, consumer goods manufacturers and sogo‑shosha groups.
• Lead consultative sales engagements with C‑level executives (CIO, CDO, CMO, heads of supply chain, merchandising and digital transformation) to position AI solutions for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization and trade‑off operations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional internal teams—including Product, Engineering, Applied AI and Partnerships—to deliver integrated solutions that comply with Japan’s APPI data‑privacy regulations.

Required profile

• 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan, with a strong focus on retail, CPG or trading‑company accounts.
• Proven track record of managing complex sales cycles and closing strategic deals with large‑scale retailers and manufacturers.
• Ability to navigate multi‑stakeholder environments, building consensus across merchandising, supply‑chain, digital, marketing and business divisions.
• Demonstrated success in meeting revenue targets despite seasonal retail cycles and consensus‑driven procurement processes.
• Hands‑on, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” attitude and strong teamwork skills in fast‑moving, ambiguous settings.
