Enterprise Account Executive, Telecommunications

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to lead the adoption of safe, frontier AI technology within Japan's government and telecommunications sectors. Based in Tokyo, you will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, and work closely with senior leaders to modernize industry operations using Anthropic's AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed revenue targets by acquiring new major telecommunications accounts and expanding existing government relationships.
• Develop and execute territory plans to identify high‑value opportunities across national ministries, prefectural and municipal governments, and quasi‑governmental bodies.
• Lead consultative sales engagements with senior officials, procurement leaders, and technical stakeholders, positioning AI as a catalyst for digital transformation.
• Coordinate internal product, engineering, applied AI, and partnership teams to deliver solutions that meet strict security, compliance, and procurement requirements.

Required profile

• 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan, with a strong focus on the telecommunications sector.
• Proven track record of managing complex, long‑cycle sales processes and closing strategic deals with government entities.
• Ability to navigate multi‑layered stakeholder ecosystems and build consensus across departments and budget authorities.
• Strong analytical mindset, relationship‑focused execution, and a “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” attitude in a fast‑moving environment.
• Passion for advanced AI systems and commitment to safe, responsible AI development.
• Fluent in Japanese and English.
