Freelance Recruitment Partner – Japan (Remote)

About the role

David Kennedy Recruitment is expanding its footprint across Japan and seeks a self‑driven Freelance Recruitment Partner to source, engage, and place top talent for a variety of global clients. This remote, commission‑based position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Japan while accessing a broad portfolio of vacancies.

Key responsibilities

• Source and engage high‑quality candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, networking and other channels.
• Screen, interview and qualify candidates against client requirements.
• Partner closely with the Service Delivery Team and Managing Director to deliver recruitment solutions.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines across multiple sectors.
• Coordinate interviews and manage candidate communication throughout the process.
• Keep candidate information organised and updated within the ATS.
• Develop long‑term relationships with candidates, acting as a trusted career partner.

Required profile

• Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of the Japanese talent market.
• Proven ability to source and recruit candidates within Japan.
• Previous recruitment or talent‑sourcing experience; international recruiting experience is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, organised and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Responsive, proactive and delivery‑focused mindset.
