Manager, Process Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Process Support Engineer to lead a team that works directly with customers in Hiroshima. The role focuses on driving adoption of new technologies, overseeing on‑site installations, and ensuring high‑quality operation of semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team that demonstrates and introduces new technologies at customer sites through demos, on‑site evaluations, joint development programs, and tool qualifications.
• Act as liaison between customers and the Business Unit, ensuring clear understanding of issues and delivery of solutions.
• Provide highly visible customer support, including on‑site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment.
• Oversee operational quality checks and approve system equipment performance.
• Train and certify Process Support Engineers in their areas of responsibility.
• Manage demand planning and financial forecasting for the activity.

Required profile

• Knowledge of three or more processes on at least two technologies, or expert level in one technology.
• Basic integration knowledge and functional expertise in the job family.
• Proven leadership experience managing a homogeneous team and adapting plans to service challenges.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational issues.
