PDC Customer Engineer II

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while working on‑site in a supportive, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field‑service experience or trade certification with 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagnose basic technical challenges.

Required skills

• Digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques.
• Maintenance of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
