People Partner – Tokyo

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an experienced People Partner to join its Tokyo office. In this highly visible, cross‑functional position you will support regional leadership, help shape HR policies, and act as a trusted advisor on a wide range of employee‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders in the region on HR‑related topics and guide the people strategy as the organization scales.
• Provide support to employees and managers throughout their lifecycle in partnership with Benefits, Compensation, and other People team experts.
• Collaborate with management to foster a high‑performance culture aligned with Anthropic’s values, ensuring performance management and employee relations comply with local law.
• Partner with specialist teams, leadership, and finance to design and implement scalable programs and policies that attract, retain, and develop top talent.
• Work with people infrastructure, legal, and compliance teams to ensure appropriate office operations and compliance.
• Oversee compliance with local employment laws, immigration, and background‑check processes in consultation with legal specialists.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR, People Operations, Employee Relations, or a closely related function.
• Experience working in a global organization with strong knowledge of Japan and APAC employment policies and best practices.
• Background in a technology company, start‑up, or similarly fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent in Japanese and English.
