Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native & Hybrid)

About the role

We are expanding a popular music‑streaming app in Japan and need a senior engineer to lead the transition to a cross‑platform architecture. You will shape the React Native foundation, define technical standards, and act as the bridge between native iOS/Android teams and the new hybrid layer.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve the React Native architecture, including folder structure, module organization and coding standards.
• Implement user‑facing features that run on both iOS and Android, collaborating with native specialists to expose core capabilities such as a custom audio engine.
• Maintain and optimise native bridges, handling low‑latency audio sync, background tasks and performance bottlenecks.
• Own the full feature lifecycle: UI design, API integration, testing, release to App Store/Google Play and post‑launch monitoring.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging cross‑platform technologies as product needs evolve.

Required profile

• Proven production experience with React Native and TypeScript, including performance tuning and state‑management.
• Comfortable navigating iOS (Xcode) and Android (Android Studio) projects, managing CocoaPods and Gradle dependencies, and fixing native build issues.
• Deep understanding of mobile fundamentals such as UI lifecycles, memory management and multithreading.
• Experience shipping production‑grade mobile features and handling App Store / Google Play submissions and OTA updates.
