Sr. Associate, Merchandising

About the role

Tory Burch, an American luxury lifestyle brand founded in 2004, is hiring a Merchandiser (Associate / Senior Associate) in Tokyo. The role drives category performance through accurate planning, reporting and execution of product assortments, working closely with Allocation, Planning, Retail, Marketing, Logistics and Global Merchandising teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports and ad-hoc business reviews, and monitor sales and inventory trends to recommend actions.
• Conduct market and competitor research, including seasonal trend and price surveys, to inform buying decisions.
• Partner with Allocation to balance inventory across stores and maximise sell-through.
• Track delivery schedules and coordinate product launches, including training materials and product information for retail teams.
• Develop buying strategies aligned with global financial targets and local market needs, and build tailored assortments to optimise store group performance and SKU productivity.
• Work with Global Merchandising (NY) and Logistics (HK) to ensure accurate orders and timely delivery, and share local market insights with HQ.
• Lead seasonal product training and presentations for retail staff and collaborate with Visual Merchandising.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in retail fashion merchandising.
• Proven accuracy and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and solid business acumen.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English fluency.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with MicroStrategy or Power BI is a plus.
