System Safety Engineer

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a System Safety Engineer with an automotive background in ADAS or autonomous driving. The role involves defining and managing safety architecture and requirements for both autonomy software and hardware, playing a critical part in shaping the technical direction of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Derive and manage safety concepts, requirements, and specifications for autonomy software and hardware for the L4 SDS product line.
• Lead the development of safety architecture.
• Perform safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, and STPA, producing relevant safety work products.
• Collaborate with verification and validation teams to ensure requirements are verified throughout development.
• Contribute to the overall safety case of the final product.
• Promote a culture of safety, providing training and guidance on safety practices.
• Monitor safety performance, report findings, and implement continuous improvement measures.
• Set clear project goals and oversee timely execution to meet requirements.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in System Safety Engineering or Functional Safety Engineering.
• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
• Experience with ADAS, autonomous systems, and robotics.
• Knowledge of automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448.
