Medical Affairs Manager, Neurovascular Japan

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Medical Affairs Manager for its Neurovascular business in Japan (Chiyoda, Tokyo). The role provides medical supervision, supports business activities, generates and disseminates evidence, runs educational activities and engages internal and external stakeholders, with an outside-in view of market unmet needs. It also acts as the Study Responsible Physician (SRP) for clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of promotional materials and healthcare professional qualifications with J&J policy, company guidelines and SOPs, and keep medical claims accurate, fair and objective.
• Act as SRP: perform safety reviews and recommend continuation or termination of clinical trials, and serve as study safety lead.
• Work with vigilance safety members on adverse events, complaints and device performance, assessing risk-benefit balance to support market registration and the life cycle.
• Provide scientific and medical information to internal stakeholders and external customers, including unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals.
• Collect Investigator Initiated Study proposals, coordinate non-clinical studies and give medical insight on clinical questions, study design, manuscript review and publication.
• Engage external stakeholders as medical science liaison, maintain scientific contacts with local investigators and support evidence generation and dissemination.
• Support educational activities, contribute to risk management and help develop SOPs and working instructions.

Required profile

• M.D. or D.D.S. (mandatory); Ph.D. preferable.
• Neurointerventionalist or neurosurgeon preferred.
• Fluent English and Japanese required.
• Deep clinical and medical knowledge in certain disease areas; experience in scientific, medical or clinical research preferred.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders worldwide.
