Senior Medical Science Liaison - Heart Recovery

About the role

Abiomed, part of Johnson & Johnson's MedTech business, is hiring a Senior Medical Science Liaison for its Heart Recovery program in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The role leads scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and generates medical insights across Japan and Korea, acting as a bridge between internal and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decisions and strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Marketing, Sales and other teams under the guidance of the Japan/Korea leadership team, and share emerging cardiovascular trends and field insights to help shape strategy
• Facilitate knowledge sharing across APAC and identify unmet clinical needs
• Respond to medical and scientific inquiries and support healthcare professional education programs and training for internal stakeholders
• Build relationships with academic and community KOLs in Japan and Korea, lead advanced scientific discussions and support congresses and symposia
• Identify evidence gaps, support clinical research, publications and data generation, and collaborate with KOLs on research initiatives

Required profile

• Master's degree or higher in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or a related field (M.D., Ph.D. preferred)
• 5-7+ years of experience in MSL or Medical Affairs
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease (circulatory support / critical care preferred)
• Proven ability to engage KOLs and hold scientific discussions
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives
