Account Manager / Business Development

About the role

This junior position combines account management (TAM) with business development to grow revenues while acting as a bridge between Japanese customers and our engineering team. Communication with customers will be primarily in Japanese, with internal collaboration partly in English.

Key responsibilities

• Manage ongoing product requirements from new and existing accounts, clarifying, documenting and prioritising them.
• Research customer business problems and communicate insights internally.
• Participate in agile release cycles, supporting test checks, organising feedback and coordinating with customer teams.
• Provide proactive support and communications, and assist with onboarding of new customers and projects.
• Research competitors and industry trends, and support tech partnership channels for co‑marketing and co‑development opportunities.

Required profile

• 4+ years experience in multi‑stakeholder or customer‑facing roles.
• Enjoys communicating: listens to detailed customer needs, discusses them internally and presents proposals.
• Basic understanding of analytics and data pipelines (ETL, APIs).
• Team player comfortable in a small, collaborative startup environment and able to work permanently in Japan.

What we offer

• Salary from 7,500,000 JPY, eligible for share options after the first year.

• 6‑month probation period, training budget and 1‑2 training visits to the UK and Bangalore per year.
• Potential placement in London or Bangalore for 6 months to a year.
