Customer Engineer II – Field Service

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance from senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills
