Customer Engineer IV – Field Service (PDC)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor and display equipment. You will leverage digital analytics and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues while ensuring high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Apply troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills using company diagnostic tools and documentation.
• Develop and follow documented procedures and task plans.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams, leading projects as needed.
• Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers.

Required profile

• Associate degree or comparable military technical training with field service experience.
• 7‑10 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental, and COVID‑19 requirements.
