Employee Relations Specialist IV

About the role

As an Employee Relations Specialist IV you will join Applied Materials’ centralized ER team, partnering with Global Employment Law, HR Business Partners and other functions to manage employee performance, conduct and misconduct matters across Japan and other APAC countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end investigations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other serious policy concerns, from intake to closure.
• Provide guidance on investigation outcomes and recommend corrective actions, including termination.
• Advise managers on policy interpretation, discipline and performance management, and support formal performance processes.
• Partner with HR Business Partners to resolve employee issues and coach leaders at all levels.
• Track and report ER case metrics, identify trends and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in employee relations, investigations or performance management; HR Business Partner experience preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of labor and employment laws in Japan and other APAC jurisdictions.
• Strong consulting, influencing and coaching abilities with sound judgment.
• High integrity, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
