Growth Lead – Japan

About the role

OpenAI is seeking a senior Growth Lead for Japan to shape and execute growth plans for ChatGPT. You will partner with the Japan GM to identify user needs, prioritize product improvements, and run performance‑marketing experiments that drive acquisition, activation, retention and monetisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define the country growth plan and roadmap with clear hypotheses, owners, dependencies and measurable outcomes.
• Run performance‑marketing tests across channels, creators and partners, using incrementality, CAC, payback and LTV to decide scaling.
• Design and execute rigorous experiments on onboarding, activation, repeat usage, re‑engagement and paid conversion, measuring incremental impact.
• Own the country growth scorecard covering acquisition, retention, paid conversion and unit economics.
• Operate the growth cadence with the GM and regional teams, aligning on results, trade‑offs and next steps.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in product growth, growth marketing, data science or growth strategy and operations within a fast‑moving technology company.
• Proven track record of turning local research and user behaviour into product and growth priorities that deliver measurable impact.
• Strong analytical fluency in cohort analysis, growth economics and performance‑marketing metrics.

• Practical performance‑marketing expertise across audience, channel, creative and measurement decisions.
