Manager, Markets Operations

About the role

As a Manager for Markets Operations you will be a key leader within ANZ's Japan Markets Operations team. You will oversee the day‑to‑day processing of Global Markets transactions for both the bank and securities entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Markets Operations activities across Japan, guaranteeing accurate, timely and controlled transaction processing.
• Partner with business, risk, compliance and regulatory stakeholders to maintain a strong control environment and meet regulatory obligations for both licensed entities.
• Drive operating‑model enhancements, workforce optimisation and process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability and operational resilience.
• Lead, coach and develop team members through training, succession planning and cross‑skilling initiatives.
• Strengthen risk‑management practices by overseeing operational controls, reconciliations and governance activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in markets or financial operations within a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to manage and develop a high‑performing team.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across Operations, Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology.
• Ability to drive strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
