Manager, Process Support Engineer (M5)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Process Support Engineer (M5) to lead a team that works closely with customers in Hiroshima, Japan. The role focuses on driving adoption of new semiconductor technologies, providing on‑site support, and ensuring high operational quality.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand roadmaps, interpret technology needs, and identify engagement opportunities.
• Manage a team that demonstrates and introduces new technologies through demos, on‑site evaluations, joint development programs, and tool qualifications.
• Serve as liaison between customers and the Business Unit, ensuring clear issue understanding and solution delivery.
• Oversee on‑site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Lead operational quality checks, train customers on system operation and maintenance, and certify Process Support Engineers.
• Responsible for demand planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multiple related technical teams and setting organizational priorities.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational issues.
• Ability to influence senior management and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of four or more semiconductor processes across at least two technologies.
• Advanced integration knowledge.
