About the role
Mastercard is seeking a Manager to lead specialist sales for Acceptance & Merchant Solutions in Japan. The role supports the execution of Mastercard’s acceptance growth strategy across the Asia‑Pacific region, working closely with product, account management, and merchant‑side partners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the AP acceptance growth strategy, identifying barriers and proposing solutions.
- Drive expansion and engagement in key verticals, leveraging organisational assets.
- Collaborate with acquirers, PSPs, and PayFacs to increase profitability and utilisation of card acceptance infrastructure.
- Manage relationships with channel partners such as PayFacs, PSPs, and solution vendors.
- Coordinate regional initiatives with market and divisional teams.
- Identify and deploy value‑added services for the merchant ecosystem.
- Own strategy and execution for contactless expansion across the region.
- Improve quality of existing acceptance and enhance customer experience.
- Identify scalable business opportunities in products and services aligned with Mastercard’s strategic priorities.
- Promote acceptance growth across SMEs, public transport, e‑commerce, bill payments, government, and B2B segments.
Required profile
- Minimum of 3 years experience in product management or a related commercial role.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the payment acquiring ecosystem and its challenges.
- Proven ability to execute initiatives quickly and deliver results.
