Network Engineer (Branch Networks, Private Networks, AWS)

About the role

The AI Robot Association is hiring a full-time Network Engineer to design and operate the branch networks, private networks, on-premises infrastructure and AWS connectivity that support its R&D and office environments. This is not a cloud SRE role: the focus is on on-premises and private networks, with AWS networking within scope. The company wants a permanent employee who owns this domain, so that critical knowledge such as system architecture, technical know-how and vendor management stays in-house.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate internal LANs, branch networks and private networks (closed networks)
• Define network requirements for new offices, relocations and floor expansions, and size hardware based on users, devices, traffic, bandwidth, ports, PoE, redundancy and wireless AP density
• Design and run Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks, configure VLANs, routing protocols and firewall rules
• Manage FortiGate and Cisco Meraki devices hands-on
• Design and review on-premises to AWS connectivity (VPC, subnet, route table, security groups/NACL, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Troubleshoot networks and handle incidents
• Coordinate with telecom carriers and network vendors, and plan and manage network projects
• Run on-premises Linux servers and NAS storage, and maintain network diagrams and SOPs
• Design networks with a strong focus on information security

Required profile

• Profile A: on-premises network specialist with strong networking fundamentals, hands-on L2/L3 switch/router/firewall experience, troubleshooting track record, and willingness to expand into AWS design, modification and testing
• Profile B: cloud infrastructure specialist with 1.5+ years of AWS or Google Cloud experience, an Associate-level or equivalent certification, and project-driving experience; basic networking knowledge is assessed in the interview
