Power+ Global Trainee (Japan)

About the role

Hitachi Energy Japan offers the Power+ Global Trainee programme, a full-time, non-remote training path for people who want to grow their career in the electrical and energy industry. The trainee attends three assignments, two of which are local and one can be international, with rotations in areas such as quality engineering, software engineering, consulting, sales, manufacturing operations, project engineering, project management and R&D.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with rotational managers to deliver business goals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with technologies such as HVDC, transformers, grid protection and control and HV circuit breakers, and with advances drawn from fields such as plasma physics and software architecture.
• Promote the programme internally and externally using your network and available tools.
• Build leadership potential through the company's Leadership Pillars and embed diversity, equity and inclusion in daily work.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines, and uphold the core values of safety and integrity.

Required profile

• Student graduating in 2027 with a STEM degree, or graduate within the last two years with a STEM degree.
• Willingness to relocate for three rotations across local and global sites; relocation assistance is provided.
• High interest in growing a career in the electrical/energy industry and promoting sustainable energy.
• Business-level communication, reading and writing in both Japanese and English.
