About the role
GR Japan is seeking interns with high‑level Japanese and English proficiency and a passion for public policy and politics. The three‑month, part‑time internship provides hands‑on experience in government relations, research, and client engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct public policy research, analysis, report writing, editing, and strategic development.
- Collaborate with project leaders to implement outreach and engagement plans with government officials, Diet members, media, and other key stakeholders.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Take meeting minutes and assist with translations of client‑related documents.
Required profile
- Demonstrated passion for public policy and politics.
- Education or experience in public policy, political science, international relations, economics, or related fields.
- Understanding of, or strong desire to understand, Japan’s policy‑making process and politics.
- Excellent research skills.
- Interest in international business.
- Sound judgment and cultural sensitivity.
- Self‑starter with a proactive approach.
- High‑level proficiency in Japanese and English.
What we offer
- Hands‑on, in‑person internship three times per week for three months.
- Transportation and meal allowance of ¥5,000 per day.
