Recruiting Manager – Japan

About the role

Lead recruiting across Japan, supporting both technical and non‑technical hiring, including Engineering, Product Management, Sales, G&A, and leadership roles. Build and develop a high‑performing recruiting team while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruiting across Japan for technical and non‑technical roles, including Engineering, Product Management, Sales, G&A, and leadership positions.
• Build and develop a high‑performing recruiting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with senior leaders to translate business priorities into scalable hiring strategies and market plans.
• Advise on the Japan talent market, providing insights on competition, compensation trends, hiring strategies, and organizational design.
• Design innovative sourcing strategies to attract exceptional talent and personally recruit senior, business‑critical hires when needed.
• Continuously improve recruiting operations, interview quality, and candidate experience while ensuring thoughtful, efficient hiring decisions.
• Collaborate with People, Compensation, Immigration, and Recruiting Operations to support Japan business growth.
• Use recruiting data and market insights to influence hiring priorities, capacity planning, and long‑term workforce strategy.

Required profile

• 10+ years of recruiting experience, including leading recruiting teams in Japan.
• Proven track record hiring across technical and business functions in high‑growth tech companies.
• Deep understanding of the Japan talent market and experience building engineering and enterprise sales organizations.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a history of coaching and developing recruiters.
• Experience partnering directly with executives and senior hiring managers on talent strategy.
• Excellent judgment, prioritization, and problem‑solving in fast‑changing environments.
• Native fluency in Japanese and strong written and verbal English communication.
