Senior Accountant – Finance

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in Hiratsuka, Japan. Reporting to the Financial Controller II, the role ensures accurate day‑to‑day accounting, compliance with standards, and drives process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing using SAP VIM, vendor master maintenance, overseas payments and netting transactions.
• Oversee all Accounts Receivable activities such as cash application, customer invoicing, and issuance of debit notes and credit memos.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor bank transactions and cash‑related activities through SAP FEBAN.
• Review sales documentation and enforce three‑way matching controls to ensure compliance.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, perform account analysis and prepare trial‑balance review schedules.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation calculations and related journal entries.
• Prepare withholding tax calculations, process tax payments and coordinate with tax advisors and auditors for filings.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives, standardize accounting procedures and enhance internal controls.
• Assist in annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis and preparation of management reports.
