Senior Marketing Manager

About the role

The B2B Marketing Team drives growth for Square, and this role leads a small but mighty team to expand Square’s presence in the Japanese market. You will support sales GTM motions—including telesales, field sales, resellers, and partnerships—to generate pipeline and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Japan marketing plan aligns with the country strategy and local growth opportunities.
• Deliver a new marketing plan for Japan and set priorities for the team.
• Execute digital and in‑person campaigns and projects.
• Lead a small team with rigorous performance management.
• Partner closely with finance, sales, and partnerships to align priorities.
• Communicate marketing’s contribution to sales pipeline health.
• Represent marketing work before executive leadership.
• Define, track, and adhere to marketing KPIs, budgets, and ROI.
• Drive innovation by leveraging the latest marketing technologies, especially AI.

Required profile

• 10+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years in marketing leadership with people‑management experience.
• Proven track record managing significant budgets and delivering results in complex B2B environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with deep understanding of marketing measurement and lead generation.
• Demonstrated experience using AI to achieve outsized impact.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English.
