Threat Detection Analyst – Japanese Speaking

About the role

Fastly’s Customer Security Operations Center (CSOC) is looking for a Threat Detection Analyst who can work in Japanese and English. The analyst will monitor and analyze customer activity, focusing on application‑layer attacks, account takeover, bot activity and WAF administration across Fastly’s edge cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert security response for customers, handling escalated application‑security cases and automated alerts.
• Conduct continuous‑improvement research to enhance Fastly’s security products and operational processes.
• Create and review security reporting for customers and manage security content in customer environments.
• Collaborate with internal security, operations and engineering teams to support agent software installed on customer systems.
• Contribute to scaling processes and policies as the CSOC grows.

Required profile

• Prior experience working in a SOC environment.
• Strong background in application security and practical knowledge of web technologies.
• Ability to work with limited supervision while mentoring teammates on security topics.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Japanese speaking required.

Required skills

• SaaS/Cloud or hybrid cloud deployments.
• Web server platforms such as Apache, NGINX, IIS and associated application frameworks.
• Scripting/programming languages: Python, Java, Go, Rust, PHP, Unix/Linux Shell, C#.
• Unix/Linux and Windows system administration.
• Application‑security expertise and troubleshooting of security software products.
