Business Operations Associate - Site Contracting

About the role

ICON, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation, is hiring a Business Operations Associate for its Site Contracting team in Tokyo and Osaka. The role manages contractual agreements for clinical research projects, ensuring compliance and supporting the delivery of new medicines and treatments. It is a hybrid home office position.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate contracts for clinical research projects with internal stakeholders, in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Analyse contract terms, conditions and obligations to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Support project teams on contract interpretation, compliance issues and contractual rights and obligations.
• Maintain accurate contract records, tracking milestones, deliverables and deadlines.
• Help develop and implement contract management processes and best practices.
• Take part in training and follow the client's SOPs and business processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, communications or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in contract administration, negotiation or similar roles in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or clinical research industry.
• Strong understanding of contract law, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
