Business System Practitioner, Japan

About the role

JCI is looking for a Business System Practitioner in Japan who will act as a resource for the organization to lead regional-based problem-solving engagements. The role cascades strategic goals from regional leadership to individual contributors, champions continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, coaches Lean Practitioners and Process Owners, and works closely with regional leadership and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional-based problem-solving engagements and cascade strategic goals so everyone understands their role in the company's vision.
• Act as a liaison between regional leadership and key stakeholders, and work with the regional leadership team to drive strategic initiatives.
• Champion continuous improvement using Lean methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure long-term organizational sustainability.
• Coach and develop Lean Practitioners, Process Owners and other leaders.
• Support regional implementation of the global lean program and lead improvement projects aligned with business strategy.
• Conduct root cause analysis, recommend technology and business solutions, and run Lean training sessions for all personnel.
• Facilitate Obeya room set-ups, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen workshops, Daily Work Installations and action closure.
• Mentor project leaders, standardize processes, introduce new continuous improvement techniques, and share insights across the CI team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Quality, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement.
• Track record of leading business transformation projects with tangible, recognized business and customer results.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong communication and presentation skills, and proven analytical and systems-thinking abilities.
• Experience training and coaching Lean and Six Sigma methods and tools.
• Fluent Japanese and business-level English; travel of 25-50% required.
