Consultant – IP Services CX (Japan)

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant for our IP Services CX team in Japan. Based in Tokyo with a hybrid work model, you will support patent and trademark clients while collaborating across regions to deliver a seamless, one‑firm service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide best‑in‑class support for patent and trademark clients.
• Manage relationships with new and existing clients, handling escalations and finding practical solutions.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to keep portfolio records accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Collaborate with colleagues across all regions to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Drive continuous process improvements and support change‑management initiatives.
• Balance multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

Required profile

• Fluent in Japanese (native or near‑native) and business‑level English (written and spoken).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven client‑facing experience with the ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, able to assess complex situations and propose practical solutions independently.
• Excellent multitasking, time‑management and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Adaptable, proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Residency in Japan with eligibility to work locally.

Required skills

• Experience with intellectual property processes such as patent and trademark management.
• Paralegal skills (nice to have).
