Corporate Communications Manager

About the role

Novartis Japan is looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to deliver internal and external communication strategy. The role connects Japan's corporate communication priorities with internal and external audiences, giving visibility to Novartis' strategy, business progress and thought leadership, and supporting the Country Comms and Patient Advocacy Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end strategy and communications planning that links Japan's business strategy to internal and external stakeholders
• Elevate the corporate and business narrative through earned and owned media, leader voices and content
• Serve as a trusted business partner and communications strategy counsel to key leaders
• Identify visibility opportunities and generate social media plans for corporate use
• Use analytics and insights to inform, adjust and report on strategy
• Anticipate risks to the company's reputation and advise business partners on predictive activities
• Act as a point of contact for key executives on external speaking and media opportunities, including media readiness
• Collaborate with the country communications team on town halls, leader meetings, organizational change communications and press conferences
• Work with Public Affairs and Executive Communications on policy, business and strategy priorities, and with global corporate affairs
• Monitor performance, ensure compliance, and manage agency ROI

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above
• 10+ years in communications, including employee and corporate communications and media relations, with a healthcare and/or pharmaceutical background
• Experience leading corporate events such as town halls and press conferences
• Excellent business-level Japanese and English, spoken and written
