As part of a government-funded project, it is building a data platform and plans to gather one million hours of humanoid robot operation data. This role covers electrical, wiring and embedded electrical systems for humanoid robots, dual-arm robots, robotic hands, teleoperation systems and validation environments, working closely with mechanical, robotics, AI/software engineers and research scientists.
Key responsibilities
- Design electrical and wiring systems for humanoid robots, dual-arm robots, robotic hands and teleoperation systems
- Select and integrate sensors, actuators, motor drivers, control boards, power supplies and communication systems
- Design internal wiring, harnesses, connectors and electrical layout
- Design power and safety systems, including batteries, power distribution, protection circuits and emergency stops
- Electrically integrate motors, encoders, IMUs, force/torque sensors, tactile sensors, cameras and related components
- Assemble, wire, debug, evaluate and perform failure analysis on prototypes and research robots
- Improve hardware stability in experimental and data-collection environments, resolving noise, heat, voltage drops, communication instability and poor contacts
- Create and update electrical design specs, wiring diagrams, BOMs, inspection procedures and evaluation reports
- Collaborate with mechanical, robotics and software engineers, and communicate with external manufacturers and suppliers
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, electronics, control engineering, robotics, mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Hands-on experience in electrical, wiring or embedded electrical system design for robots, industrial machinery, factory automation, mobility systems, precision equipment, medical devices, automobiles or related products
- Experience selecting and integrating sensors, actuators, motors, motor drivers, control boards, power supplies or communication devices
- Experience creating or reviewing wiring diagrams, harness drawings, electrical layouts, BOMs or similar documentation
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting electrical systems with oscilloscopes, multimeters and regulated power supplies
- Experience in prototype or R&D hardware design, assembly, evaluation and debugging
- Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2 or above)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience developing humanoid robots, dual-arm robots, robotic hands, mobile robots, cobots or similar
- Knowledge of brushless DC motors, servo motors, encoders, IMUs, force/torque and tactile sensors
- Experience with CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, USB, RS-485, SPI, I2C or UART interfaces
