Finance Enterprise Partner - Japanese IVD

About the role

Roche is hiring a Finance Enterprise Partner for its Japanese In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) business, based at the Tokyo head office. The role is not a support function but an active co-pilot of business performance, combining finance, strategy and commercial execution to give leaders a forward-looking financial view of the Japanese IVD market and help them make faster, better strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead rolling forecasts (annual budget, monthly forecast, mid-term planning) and maintain financial models covering volume, price, product mix and costs.
• Run performance reviews with executive dashboards by portfolio, product and segment, own gross margin bridge analysis, KPI scorecards and variance commentary.
• Translate macro trends such as pricing pressure, tender cycles and aging demographics into quantified financial impact and scenario analysis.
• Evaluate strategies for new and existing businesses, run product- and customer-level margin analysis, and identify dilutive contracts.
• Build deal-level financial models, ROI analyses, pricing frameworks and risk-adjusted projections, and support strategic customer business reviews.
• Work with business units on complex cases, and partner with Supply Chain, Commercial Operations and Finance Excellence on cost-reduction and portfolio rationalization.
• Embed a profit-improvement mindset across the organization, set up internal governance guidelines and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• 5+ years of experience in finance or business analyst roles (FP&A, controller, finance business partner, management accounting).
• Native Japanese and conversational English.
• Experience managing stakeholders at executive level and working across functions.
• Proactive, team-oriented, growth mindset and management perspective.

Required skills

• Solid finance and accounting knowledge (IFRS familiarity or equivalent).
• Data analysis and visualization: Excel Pivot Tables, Tableau dashboards, presentation tools.
• Preferred: ERP experience (e.g. SAP COPA) and accounting qualifications (Japanese CPA, USCPA, MBA).

What we offer

• Permanent position with a 3-month probation; base salary around JPY 400,000 per month, plus housing allowance, fixed overtime allowance and annual bonus.
• Flextime system with standard hours 8:30-17:15 (60-minute break), core time 11:00-15:00; remote work limited to a maximum of 8 times per month.
