Head of Partnerships, Japan

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a senior leader to build and run its partner ecosystem in Japan. The Head of Partnerships, Japan will define the partner strategy, assemble a high‑performing team and own the partner‑sourced pipeline, revenue and attach‑rate for the country. This player‑coach role works closely with Japan sales leadership and the Applied AI team, representing Japanese partners in global decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, develop and retain a Japan‑focused partner team covering GSIs, regional SIs and resellers.
• Set goals, territories and partner portfolios, and hold the team accountable for pipeline and revenue outcomes.
• Establish operating cadence with one‑ons, weekly pipeline reviews, deal inspections and quarterly business planning.
• Define partner segments, prioritize partners and design the coverage model across firms such as NTT DATA, Fujitsu, NEC, Hitachi and Accenture.
• Localise Anthropic’s global partner program for Japan, including tiers, incentives and enablement paths.
• Own executive relationships with the most strategic Japanese partners and drive joint business planning and co‑selling.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling partner businesses in Japan, preferably for a US technology company.
• Player‑coach mindset with ability to lead a team while personally managing top‑tier partner relationships.
• Strong collaboration with sales and product teams, and ability to convey partner and customer needs to global leadership.
