Manager – Small Business Sales Specialist, North East Asia

About the role

The Manager, Small Business Segment – Sales Specialist for North East Asia will be based in Tokyo and join Mastercard’s Commercial and New Payments Flow team. Reporting to the Vice President, Small Business Segment, the role drives growth of prepaid, debit and credit card portfolios for small‑business customers across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the SME segment.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs and startups.
• Provide sales expertise and support to partners to increase portfolio performance.
• Define and execute strategies for new product features and benefits.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Account, Marketing, Loyalty, Finance, Pricing, Legal, Customer Delivery) to launch initiatives and go‑to‑market plans.
• Analyse performance data, report on GDV, new customers, market share and revenue targets.
• Act as primary liaison between Small Business sales, internal stakeholders and issuers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or business development within payments or financial services.
• Strong understanding of prepaid, debit and credit card products for small businesses.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse internal and external partners.
• Track record of meeting growth targets and delivering measurable results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Based in Japan with willingness to work in Tokyo.
