Organic Analytical Chemist

About the role

3M is seeking an Organic Analytical Chemist to join its global analytical laboratory network. The role focuses on supporting product innovation and commercialization across multiple business segments by applying advanced analytical techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and validate analytical methods for organic compounds using state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation.
• Provide analytical expertise to product development teams, addressing customer challenges and ensuring successful product launches.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional laboratory, manufacturing, and global teams to drive project timelines.
• Maintain instruments, ensure data integrity, and prepare detailed analytical reports.
• Support digital initiatives within the analytical lab, including the use of digital tools for data analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry (Ph.D. preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with GC/MS, LC/MS, NMR, FT‑IR, and Raman microscopy.
• Proven ability in sample preparation, spectral analysis, and data interpretation.
• Experience in analytical method development and optimization for product‑focused applications.
• Strong communication skills in English and Japanese, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and global teams.
