Project Manager - Power Transformers

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY JAPAN, LTD. is looking for a Project Manager in Hitachi, Ibaraki, Japan, within its Transformers team. The role covers project execution after orders are received, from material procurement and logistics to on-site installation follow-up and cost monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Execute projects after receiving orders and communicate effectively with counterpart factory project managers.
• Control the specifications and delivery schedule of materials purchased in Japan and liaise with the factory for timely delivery to factory assembly.
• Manage transportation arrangements with logistics specialists so transformers arrive safely and on time at the job site.
• Collaborate with Hitachi Ltd's installation department, follow up on remaining on-site works of the Japan portion, and arrange installation schedules and supervisor dispatchment.
• Monitor overall project costs through the SAP system from initiation to closure and report planned versus actual costs to the manager of the HE-J organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (minimum).
• At least 5 years of experience in power transformer products.
• Strong Japanese and advanced English communication.
• Time management, presentation and planning skills, and ability to learn and work in a new environment.
