Sales, Trading and Structuring Graduate Programme 2028

About the role

Barclays is recruiting for its Sales, Trading and Structuring Graduate Programme 2028 in Tokyo. The programme leads to a career as an analyst in the Global Markets team, which covers Foreign Exchange, Rates, Credit and Equities. After intensive initial training, graduates start as salespeople or traders and work in small teams on demanding assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and develop solutions to clients' needs, and monitor markets to formulate trade ideas
• Perform analyses on fundamental and technical data, and take part in pricing products
• Attend client meetings or calls with traders, salespeople, structurers and research colleagues
• Help with daily tasks such as trade reporting and P&L analysis, and assist in managing the risk of the team's trading books
• Run small research projects, prepare presentations and reports, and collaborate with senior management to implement research findings
• Develop business cases, manage the launch of new products and services, and manage client relationships and transaction processing
• Build and run financial models and strategies, and train and mentor junior colleagues

Required profile

• Must complete an undergraduate or postgraduate degree between September 2027 and June 2028
• Ideally holds unrestricted work authorisation in Japan; visa sponsorship is role-specific and must be declared
• Resourcefulness, team orientation, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, shown through extracurricular activities
• A good mix of technical and interpersonal skills
