Senior Consultant, Manufacturing Technology

About the role

Omdia, an Informa TechTarget company, is looking for a Senior Consultant to join its Integrated Tech consulting team in Japan, with a focus on Manufacturing Technology. The role supports high-quality outputs for custom consulting projects and works with internal and external customers. It is based in the Otemachi Building office and reports to the Director of Consulting in EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Business development: identify and pursue new opportunities in manufacturing technology, build client relationships, craft tailored value propositions, represent Omdia at industry events and conferences.
• Project management: lead end-to-end custom consulting projects, meet billable utilization targets, plan projects, coordinate analysts and subject matter experts, and keep projects on time, in scope and within budget.
• Project fulfillment: conduct primary and secondary research, market analysis, competitive intelligence and strategy assessments, and produce briefs, reports, presentations and recommendations.
• Bid management: draft project proposals and manage third-party subcontractors where needed.
• Client engagement: act as a trusted advisor, support presentations and meetings, and build long-term client relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or an applicable field; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in market research, consulting and/or engineering with expertise in manufacturing technology.
• Proven track record in business development, project management and project fulfillment.
• Strong client-facing experience with senior-level stakeholders.

Required skills

• Familiarity with market analysis methodologies and corporate strategy frameworks.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and tools such as Tableau and BI.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
