Senior Engineer – Software Autonomy Applications

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a senior engineer to lead the deployment and development of its Hivemind autonomy software in real‑world environments. You will work closely with global customers, providing technical expertise, training, and integration support while collaborating with internal engineering teams to advance autonomy capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy with customers on site globally (~50% travel) to support software integration and development activities.
• Become an expert user of the Hivemind enterprise software stack and its autonomy modules.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on use of Hivemind.
• Develop AI and autonomy applications using the Shield AI enterprise SDK.
• Assist the sales team in pre‑sales activities such as demos and conferences.
• Support post‑sales deployment and integration of Shield AI software products.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
• Help customers debug software/API integration issues.
• Collaborate with product engineering to incorporate customer feedback and improve products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 5+ years industry experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years experience.
• Strong technical background in software engineering.
• Proficiency in writing modern C++ code.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
