Senior Manager, Retail Training & Development

About the role

Kate Spade New York, part of the Tapestry portfolio, is looking for a Senior Manager, Retail Training & Development in Tokyo. The role identifies and delivers training and developmental solutions for the Retail and Outlet business, building the knowledge, confidence and leadership capability of retail staff so that sales, market share, profitability and customer experience improve.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business needs and plan and deliver training programs and other developmental solutions for Retail and Outlet.
• Support the goal of higher sales, market share, profitability and customer experience.
• Improve selling skills across all staff, leadership capability for Store Leaders and above, conversion and productivity, and new customer acquisition (Gen Z).
• Elevate customer experience and improve customer scores.
• Work closely with the Channel Head, Regional Leader and HR, including training the Regional Leaders (TTT) and providing tools and materials.
• Help accelerate brand transformation by improving fashion acumen across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Fluent Japanese and business-level English (mandatory).
• Nice to have: more than 5 years' experience as a Store Manager, Stylist or MD in fashion/apparel brands with training delivery experience, and experience in a fast-moving US company or culture.

Required skills

• Training planning and execution experience in fashion/luxury industries.
• Management training such as situational leadership and coaching (a plus).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creative and strategic problem solving, and hands-on execution.
