Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Compal is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of infrared sensing and safety‑critical components for automotive customers. The role focuses on developing high‑performance far‑infrared sensors and AI‑based safety solutions for next‑generation vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of complex automotive systems, ensuring hardware and software cohesion.
• Gather and analyze system requirements, define specifications, and develop engineering solutions meeting customer and regulatory needs.
• Collaborate with global multidisciplinary teams to align system solutions with project goals and schedules.
• Oversee system‑level testing, validation, and root‑cause analysis to meet functional, safety, and reliability standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide technical direction, promoting best practices and industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance performance, reduce complexity, and optimize cost.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and other automotive safety regulations.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including architecture diagrams, specifications, test plans, and reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of systems engineering experience in automotive or related industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Strong knowledge of automotive architecture, embedded systems, and functional safety standards.
• Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills in English and Korean.

Required skills

• Systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Codebeamer, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice.
• Experience with infrared sensing, far‑infrared (FIR) sensors and AI integration.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, ADAS and electric‑vehicle systems.
• Proficiency in hardware/software integration and validation.
