Staff Field Applications Engineer - Industrial Ethernet & TSN

About the role

Analog Devices is hiring a Staff Field Applications Engineer in Japan to provide strategic technical leadership for its most critical customers. The engineer acts as a technical authority bridging ADI's industrial Ethernet and networking products with customer needs, leading pre-sales and implementation work for strategic accounts while guiding development teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Support industrial Ethernet solutions (TSN, Gigabit Ethernet, 10BASE-T1L, Single Pair Ethernet) and lead solution proposals from the customer's system architecture design stage
• Propose and support designs for PHY, switch and network synchronization products
• Provide hardware and software design reviews, debugging and performance evaluation for industrial machinery, robots, PLCs, motion control and process automation
• Act as a subject matter expert on IEEE TSN (802.1AS, Qbv, Qci) and deliver technical training to customers and sales teams
• Work with sales, marketing, business unit and applications engineering teams, and with Japanese and global development teams, feeding customer requirements back into the product roadmap

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a FAE, application engineer or systems engineer
• Degree in electrical, electronic or communications engineering, or equivalent experience
• Native Japanese and technical communication in English
• Ability to travel about 50% of the time; day shift

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Ethernet PHY, industrial Ethernet and TSN
• Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP
