About the role
Mastercard is looking for a Managing Consultant to lead Services Business Development within its Japan Sales & Servicing team. The role sits in the global Advisors organization and focuses on transforming Mastercard from a payments network into a technology‑driven partner through AI, big‑data and strategic consulting solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end sales cycles from market research and storyboarding to client presentations and contract signing.
- Engage with core payments teams to assess client needs and provide strategic guidance.
- Drive regional and local strategic initiatives that grow the Advisors profit and loss.
- Ensure product development aligns with the specific requirements of Japanese issuers and merchants.
- Oversee project delivery, supervising delivery teams to ensure successful completion and strong client relationships.
- Achieve personal sales targets responsibly and ethically, keeping customer needs at the forefront.
- Support Mastercard’s core payments business by winning strategic proprietary and co‑branded programs to increase market share in Japan.
- Develop best‑in‑class Advisors programs that differentiate Mastercard’s offering.
Required profile
- Proven experience selling consulting, data‑analytics or technology solutions to senior management in the payments or financial services sector.
- Strong track record of managing complex sales processes and delivering high‑impact projects.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with issuers, merchants and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑moving, results‑oriented environment.
