Senior Director, Business Development – Japan, South Korea & Taiwan

About the role

Shield AI’s International Business & Strategy team is hiring a Senior Director of Business Development to accelerate growth and support the adoption of its autonomy ecosystem across Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the regional go‑to‑market strategy for Shield AI’s product portfolio, including X‑BAT, V‑BAT, ViDAR and Hivemind.
• Maintain responsibility for annual order targets, multi‑year pipeline development and order growth.
• Lead end‑to‑end capture and sales efforts from early engagement through contract award and follow‑on growth.
• Engage directly with senior military, government and defence‑industry stakeholders across the region.
• Provide market and customer intelligence to influence product roadmap and international strategy.

Required profile

• 10+ years of business development experience in defence, aerospace or national security within Japan, South Korea or Taiwan.
• Proven track record of closing complex defence programmes, ideally across both hardware (aircraft/UAS) and software (autonomy/AI).
• Fluency in English and Japanese (preferred) and strong understanding of regional procurement, offset and export requirements.
• Ability to travel frequently and work across multiple time zones.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of autonomy systems, UAVs, ISR and advanced sensing technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) for business analysis.
• Deal‑cycle forecasting, tracking and management using Salesforce.
