Vice President, Technical Architect

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Vice President, Technical Architect to lead the Technical Architect team within the Customer Solutions Center in Japan. The role combines technology leadership, solution design, and delivery coordination to help create data‑driven, scalable solutions for Mastercard customers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technology expert for the geography/segment portfolio, translating merchant and acquirer needs into architecture implications and roadmaps.
• Lead technical discovery, pre‑scoping, and mapping of proposed solutions to client architecture and integration requirements.
• Provide tech‑functional input to value‑proposition development and guide budgeting discussions with Finance.
• Identify and manage system integrators and partners, ensuring smooth post‑sales handover and de‑risking technical delivery plans.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Technical Architect team, establishing priorities, operating rhythm, and quality standards.
• Drive architecture governance, share best practices, and give structured feedback to product and technology leads.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
